Olivia Wilde Returning For ‘House’ Series Finale

According to Reuters.com, Olivia Wilde is set to return to “House” for the show’s series finale on May 21st!

Original co-star Lisa Edelstein left the show before the eighth season began, and Olivia Wilde left the series in October to focus on movies.
Wilde is scheduled to return for the series finale, which will be directed and co-written by series creator David Shore, but the network has not announced whether or not Edelstein will return for a House/Cuddy reunion.

Olivia Wilde reacts to Hugh Laurie’s “House” ending this year

Olivia Wilde has expressed gratitude at being a part of the Fox medical drama series, “House,” after it was announced on Wednesday that the show has come to an end after eight years.
The former cast member who played Remy ‘Thirteen’ Hadley wrote on Twitter: “House lovers, it’s the end of an era. Shows like that don’t happen, well, ever. I’m honored to have been a part of such a brilliant story.”
Wilde made her final appearance on the show last October, speaking about her departure at the time she said: “It’s been an extraordinary time on the show, learning from Hugh and all the other actors and our amazing writing staff,” Wilde says in the video below. “I see it as a chapter, a really important chapter in my life.”

Olivia Wilde begins filming ‘The Longest Week’ in NYC

According to onlocationvacations.com, Jason Bateman and Olivia Wilde will be spending the holiday season in New York to shoot their new film The Longest Week. The movie is about a man who lives a life of leisure in his parents prestigious Manhattan hotel. In the span of one week, he finds himself evicted, disinherited and in love.

The Longest Week is scheduled to shoot in NYC area between November 18th and December 22nd.

On Saturday, 11.19, the movie is filming around New York City Hall at Centre St & Chambers St in Manhattan. On Sunday, 11.20, The Longest Week will be shooting around Pearl and Water St in New York City.

Olivia to unveil the 2011 Swarovski Star

Actress Olivia Wilde will unveil the  2011 Swarovski Star that will crown the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Rockefeller Plaza between 49th and 50th streets and 5th and 6th Avenues, Manhattan at 11:00 a.m. Press check-in will begin at 10:30 a.m.
Olivia will be on hand to reveal the star that will then be raised to sit atop the 74 -foot-high, 46-foot wide, 10-ton Norway Spruce for the 2011 holiday season.
This is the eighth year a Swarovski Star will adorn the Rockefeller Center Christmas tree. The 2011 Swarovski Star is comprised of 25,000 crystals and one million facets. It features 30,000 multi-colored LED bulbs and a state-of-the art computer program, to create a stunning, shimmering effect through customized light sequencing.

Olivia Wilde on Burt Wonderstone short list

According to Deadline.com, New Line is zeroing in on the female lead for Burt Wonderstone, the Don Scardino-directed comedy that will star Steve Carell and Jim Carrey as rival magicians on the Las Vegas strip. The short list for the female lead right now is Olivia Wilde, Michelle Monaghan, Judy Greer, Sarah Silverman and Jessica Biel.

'House': Olivia Wilde says she's likely done for good

Olivia Wilde may have just made her exit from House on Monday’s episode, but if you were among the fans hoping for Thirteen to make a brief return in the future to close out her character’s relatively open-ended departure, you might be out of luck.At the In Time premiere held last night at the Regency Village Theatre in Westwood, Calif., Wilde told EW that she didn’t foresee a return to the show — even if rumors that it could be the show’s last season prove to be true.

“I think the way we left it, if she came back, it would probably seem forced,”

Wilde said.

“So I don’t think she should come back. I liked her exit story a lot, so I am happy with it.”

Back in June, executive producer David Shore told EW that Wilde would “be back for at least some of the season” but ultimately, Wilde’s sole appearance this season was also her last. In her final episode, Thirteen was fired by House so that she could make a guilt-free move to Greece with her girlfriend. Wilde said her time on the show, which has seen her character struggle with Huntington’s Disease and spend some time in jail, was satisfying without having to revisit it.

“I wouldn’t be so bold as to ask for anything more from House,”

she told EW.

“I had such an amazing run on the show. They’ve done such cool things with my character. She’s been so fascinating, dynamic and cool and unpredictable.”

Olivia Lands ‘Rush’ Role Of Suzy Miller

It’s a role that a lot of actresses wanted, but I’m told that Olivia Wilde will play 1970s supermodel Suzy Miller in Rush, the Ron Howard-directed Formula One drama about the rivalry between drivers Niki Lauda (Daniel Bruhl) and James Hunt (Chris Hemsworth).

Cross Creek’s Brian Oliver is producing with Imagine’s Brian Grazer and Working Title partners Tim Bevan and Eric Fellner. Cross Creek funded the film with Exclusive Media Group.Miller fell in love with and married Hunt, a handsome, womanizing driver, but the most interesting part of their relationship is how Miller soon fell in love with Hunt’s actor pal, Richard Burton. Hunt and Burton famously negotiated a “transfer” of assets, with Burton paying the $1 million divorce settlement that Hunt owed Miller. Burton and Miller were married shortly after.I’m told that Howard hopes to recruit his A Beautiful Mind star Russell Crowe to play the small role of Burton in the Peter Morgan-scripted film. Wilde, who’ll next be seen starring in Butter, is repped by WME and Untitled along with UK-based Hamilton Hodell.

Olivia to guest star on the 3rd episode of House S8

Olivia's character Thirteen is set to appear on the 3rd episode of the new season of House MD (premiering tomorrow), titled Charity Case. This episode is set to air October 17th on Fox.

Olivia Wilde toplines ‘Longest’ comedy

Marking his feature film directorial debut, Peter Glanz will direct “The Longest Week” — a new indie comedy assembled by Far Hills Pictures — and has nabbed Olivia Wilde as his leading lady.

Pic, which Glanz also wrote, joins the titles currently for sale at the Toronto Film Fest. Story centers on Conrad Valmont, affluent and aimless, who lives a life of leisure in his parents’ prestigious Manhattan hotel. In the span of one week, he finds himself evicted, disinherited and in love.Stone Douglass and Taylor Materne are producing through their Far Hills Pictures banner along with “Rachel Getting Married” producer Neda Armian.
Far Hills packaged and developed the pic and will finance, budgeting “Longest” at under $5 million. Company will look to get the film into production within the next three months.
Wilde has kept busy with Universal’s “Cowboys and Aliens” and 20th Century Fox’s “In Time,” which unspools in October; and “Butter,” which bowed at the Telluride Film Festival.
Glanz based “Longest” on his black-and-white short, “A Relationship in Four Days,” that screened at Sundance and at the Critics Week in Cannes in 2008.
A fully financed development and production shingle, Far Hills most recently produced “Corman’s World,” which unspools in October. Company looks to produce up to three pics a year in the $5 million to $20 million range. WME Global arranged the financing and will represent distribution rights.
Wilde is repped by WME and Untitled Entertainment.

Olivia films a documentary in Kenya

Olivia Wilde has headed to Kenya to shoot a documentary about women living in its most impoverished areas. The 27-year-old has interviewed female entrepreneurs and toured the Kibera School for Girls in the slums of Nairobi for TV documentary Half the Sky, which she is filming with writer Nicholas D. Kristof.

The Cowboys & Aliens star admits she has been inspired by the trip.Over the weekend she tweeted: ‘I’m in Kenya with PBS and Nick Kristof shooting a doc for Half The Sky!! Tomorrow we head into the slums to interview female entrepreneurs. ‘Spent the day in Kibera slum in Nairobi, Kenya, with the strong women of the Jamii Bora micro financing org. My mind is officially blown.’ Actresses including America Ferrera and Nicole Kidman are also filming installments for the documentary.

Is Butter about Hillary and Obama?

Butter, a quirky comedy starring Jennifer Garner, Ty Burrell, Olivia Wilde , and Hugh Jackman that premieres next week at the Toronto International Film Festival, was always destined to garner attention — it’s a high-profile movie about competitive butter carving!

With no prior experience in butter carving at all, Mrs. Pickler decides that she’s going to take the sculpting tools into her own hands. “She enters the competition, and when she goes to sign up, she finds herself signing up at the same time as this 10 year-old black orphan girl [Destiny, played by Yara Shahidi], who is prodigiously talented,” the director explains. Destiny and Laura quickly become intense butter-carving rivals. “When you start to peel away the layers of the movie, you realize that there’s a lot of political metaphor to the movie,” continues Smith. “Bill Clinton was this much-loved president, who maybe was not so discreet with his sexual love, and Hillary stood in the shadows very quietly supporting him. After his two terms were up, there was a sense of Hillary saying, ‘My turn now.’“And then, the year she runs for president, Barack Obama, this young upstart, comes along, and there’s a sense of Hillary being like, ‘Really?’ That was very much the metaphor that Jason Micallef was aiming for when he wrote the script originally. Obviously, there’s some fairly unsubtle links to the fact that the movie is set in Iowa.” (For those of you who avoid politics, the Iowa State Fair, where Butter actually filmed for one week during 2010, has become a major political stomping ground for presidential hopefuls seeking support in the Iowa caucuses.)Smith was quick to add that the film is not any sort of angry, pointed satire, and that even without any focus on the political subtext, Butter functions as a goofy comedy. Well, color us intrigued!

PETA Kind Choices Award

PETA's 2010 Sexiest Vegetarian Celebrity Olivia Wilde and shelter dog advocate Emma Stone have another (synthetic) feather to put in their nonwool caps.

The ladies each earned a PETA Kind Choices Award for promoting cruelty-free cosmetics from Revlon, one of the first cosmetics companies to ban all animal testing. 
Olivia and Emma are gorgeous living proof that women can save animals' lives with every mascara, eye shadow, and blush product they purchase. In addition to Revlon, hundreds of other companies, including Almay, Kiss My Face and ELF, refuse to test their products on animals. Check out PETA's handy cruelty-free guide for the complete list.

Dr House: Last Episode for Olivia

The filming of the series Dr House resumed in late July, the first episode of season 8 will be released on October 3. Yesterday the reporter from Extra TV, Terri Seymour, interviewed the cast members including Hugh Laurie, Olivia Wilde and two newcomers: Odette Annabel and Charlyne Yi. She posted pictures on her Twitter page and found out that it was the last episode of Olivia.

Olivia testing for female lead in “Horizons” opposite Tom Cruise

Who’s ready to go head to head with arguably one of the biggest movie stars in the world? Variety reports five young up and coming young actresses are testing this weekend to star opposite Tom Cruise in new sci-fi epic “Horizons” (formerly “Oblivion”). Will it be Brit Marling, Olivia Wilde, Noomi Rapace, Jessica Chastain or Olga Kurylenko, some combination of the above or others altogether? All five young ladies are testing for two roles up for grabs on Saturday, but other names are still under consideration.

Tron: Legacy” helmer Joseph Kosinski directs the film about a man named Jack who lives in the clouds above the earth and goes down to the surface to repair drones that keep the planet safe from an alien race that has practically wiped out the human race. The two female leads are Victoria, Jack’s fellow cloud dweller, confidante and lover, and Julia, who had been his fiancee on earth before the invasion.

Advantage Wilde: Kosinski obviously has great affection for the increasingly in demand actress, having already cast her as the female lead in “Tron”. Advantage Marling: the Sundance breakout star was sought for Cruise’s thriller “One Shot” but passed due to scheduling conflicts. Rapace, Sweden’s original “Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”, was hand-picked by Ridley Scott to headline “Prometheus”. Chastain is easily the most prolific actress of 2011, with “The Tree of Life”, “The Help”, “The Debt” and “The Texas Killing Fields” already under her belt. Kurylenko, Daniel Craig’s Bond girl in “Quantum of Solace”, co-stars with Chastain in Terrence Malick’s next, “The Burial.”.
While Universal, the studio behind “Horizons”, has been dumping one high profile project after another in recent days – “Ouija”, followed by “Wicked Lovely” – this particular film is on the fast track, already set for a July 19, 2013 release.

Olivia to take over for Jennifer Garner in Chemistry

According to starpulse.com, Olivia Wilde is set to replace Jennifer Garner, who is now pregnant with her third child, in the upcoming indie flick Better Living Through Chemistry. Olivia joins an all-star cast that includes Sam Rockwell, Michelle Monaghan and Dame Judi Dench in this dark dramedy rooted in America's pill-popping culture.

The story follows a small-town pharmacist (Rockwell) stuck in a loveless marriage (to Monaghan) who rediscovers himself by starting an affair with a trophy wife (Wilde). After Wilde's character introduces him to the pleasures of prescription drugs, they start plotting to kill her husband—that's when things start to get really out of hand. According to Variety, Dench will serve as the film's overseeing narrator

Olivia testing for Horizons

Collider.com reports Olivia Wilde, Jessica Chastain, Noomi Rapace, Brit Marling and Olga Kurylenko are testing for opposite Tom Cruise for Horizons, previously titled Oblivion, a film directed by Joseph Kosinski. The story takes place in an apocalyptic future that finds humans living in clouds above the uninhabitable Earth, and Cruise plays a soldier relegated to staying on the planet to work on drones that seek out and destroy a savage alien life form.

There are two key female roles in the film: a woman named Victoria who is Cruise’s “right-hand man and lover” and keeps him company while he’s repairing drones, and Julia, his fiancee before Earth was invaded. There’s no word on whether the actresses are all testing for the same part, different parts, or both roles simultaneously.
